ASD Device Closure

A procedure known as ASD closure is used to fix a hole in the heart that is referred to as atrial septal defect (ASD). The septum is the wall which separates the heart’s upper chambers (atria) apart.

Generally speaking, in newborns a small hole is present in this wall which typically closes spontaneously after weeks or months following delivery. Still there are instances where it can be wider than normal and therefore fail to close on its own. This would allow mixing blood with oxygen and without it over time straining one’s lungs alongside one’s heart.

Symptoms caused by these large ASDs include shortness of breath, tiredness, swollen legs or even heart palpitations. Severe cases may lead to conditions such as heart failure, stroke amongst others or pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure within lungs).

The main aim of performing an ASD closure is to seal up the defect and prevent other complications from occurring later on. Depending on how big or where exactly it is located in relation to other important organs including veins and arteries connected to them

The Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Device Closure procedure begins at USD 4,700. This minimally invasive approach is designed to effectively close the hole in the heart’s septum, providing a long-term solution for improved cardiac function and overall health. Contact Us for further details.

Patients undergoing ASD Device Closure typically require a hospital stay of 10-12 days. This period allows for proper monitoring and post-operative care, ensuring the device is well-set and the patient is on the path to a smooth recovery.

The Government of India encourages medical visas and the process is easy and quick without much documentation after a confirmation from the treating hospital.
